Strap about to break; LG says the strap isn't covered, just the watch

Friends, I have the watch sport but, as stated earlier, the strap is about to break. LG pissed me off saying that the strap isn't covered, only the watch. Of course you know that the strap contains the antenna for the watch.

So.....should I look at the Samsung family? Which one? Or just give in and buy another watch sport.

I'm happy with my LG V30 phone, btw.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Gary

Out of interest, should the same happen to me, what is the list price for a new strap ?

Don't be fooled. They are not going to cover the watch either.

They are really busy trying to screw all of their Watch Sport customers by not acknowledging a super common issue with the watch shutting off at even a full charge. Mine hasn't even updated since October 2017. LG would like me to pay $65 for a fix but I am seeing reports that people are still having issues even after paying. Hard to stomach so I won't be purchasing LG products at all anymore. Matter of fact they are still holding my watch hostage until I pay $20 for a diagnostic fee. :(

OK, wanted to report back. They replaced the strap for $45. It seems to be fine, although I had to reset the watch a few times to get the new Wear OS to "take" but it seems to be fine. It took about 2 weeks which seemed long, but of course, I have no idea how many people are making repairs, etc.

Out of curiosity where did the watch strap break or start to break?
Just got an LG Watch Sport a few days ago and liking it but with the band being non swappable i want to make sure to look for early warning signs.

So where the band meets the watch and is held in by the screws on the side. Ill be keeping an eye on that area.

Thank You.
