Strategies and where to buy S21 Ultra, unlocked, 512gb?

I switched to iPhone last fall because I needed an easy way to video call with my parents.

I'm planning to switch back to Android and purchase a S21 direct from Samsung.

What are the advantages of the unlocked firmware?

I'm unlocked on Verizon. The only thing really lost is the video calling built in to the dialer. But that only worked Verizon customer to Verizon customer; So I just use Duo for video calls. I don't miss the Verizon bloat one bit.
