Streaming music subscriptions?

I read about the new YouTube music app. Compared to Google visit music. The disadvantage in my opinion is the fact that with YouTube music in order to multitask in you're phone and okay music in the background, you've got to pay for it as a subscription which stinks. With play music, I just listen to the free radio even though there are ads and bit unlimited song skips, but it's still free.

Yeah I agree. I use Pandora and Spotify and just listen to the ads. I don't want to pay to stream music. If there is something I like, I'll totally buy it (really want to support the musicians), but I don't want to pay for streaming. I pay for satellite radio in my car and just don't want to pay for multiple music services.

Yes I agree with you. I like listening to music but I don't want to pay for it in order to stream it. I don't mind listening to the ads, and again, the limited amount of song skips Doesn't bother me.

On another note, the one feature of Nougat that I do love is the level of priorities that you can set for certain apps for the importance of alerting you. Since I'm extremely forgetful. It's nice for me to always have a visual alert in the notification shade vs just seeing the alerted in pulldown the notification shade.

I use iHeartRadio and Pandora. I pay for Pandora so there are no ads but iHeartRadio has practically no ads which worries me because it's the better service and I don't see how they can stay in business with so few ads and no premium option.

iHeartRadio makes its money on the ads on its terrestrial radio stations.

There's one other awesome feature of play music though in the settings menu especially for the 6p, you have a digital equalizer built in. Essentially giving you the option for whatever kind of fine you might want. From mega bass to concert hall. I consider that an awesome feature. The ONLY other app that I've seen offering this feature is Spotify and it uses way more RAM memory and battery I've heard in online reports than play music does.

I just pay the 7.99$ for play music and get YT red included easy as pie

As for Musicians....they don't make as much as they used to with sales it's more of royalties and contracts/tours now

The music business changed with the introduction of a better internet if not better cause now everyone with internet can buy or stream music

I used to pay for Play Music, but then I switched to Spotify premium. Built in equalizer, great discovery play lists, biggest catalog.

At first I was totally against paying for streaming, but ever since I went premium, I don't think I'll go back. It's only $10, so maybe I drink one less coffee a month or something, no biggie.

I thought about that as well for myself, but I just really don't feel like paying for a streaming music service whatsoever. Like I said, play music has the built in digital equalizer and doesn't consume too much battery and RAM memory. Spotify apparently does.

I agree with that :)

It does tend to use more and I also love YT Red background play and that's nice when it comes with GPlay anyways

The other nice thing is storing music in the cloud thing of all my old or other tracks and the seamlessly easy web interface I can access on any computer without having to install a program which comes in handy at school if my phone is being used for something else

Family plan is nice too if you have a big family :D

I had a Spotify subscription, but I canceled it and opted for a Google Play Music subscription instead, since it includes YouTube Red, with offline viewing of YouTube videos, YouTube Music, and ad-free YouTube. That was a better value to me than Spotify for the same price.

Should have signed up for the 4 months free of play music around the forth of July, then use Google rewards to pay for the subscription.

Yup

I used play music for years but don't laugh but I switched over to Apple Music because of play music lack of real parental controls that actually work.

I get that, it is a good deal. There were far too many times where I couldn't find the music I wanted in Google Play though, that's why I switched.

Also you can browse Play music library without subscribing. Just go to the play store where you can search to see if they have what you want.

I have been giving Amazon Prime Music a go for the last few weeks, replacing my Pandora subscription. I finally thought that it was stupid to not take advantage of the Music part when I am paying the Prime membership yearly anyhow. It takes a bit of getting used to, but I can say that I like it at this point.
