Stuck in Boot loop and wont turn off

My GS4 is stuck in boot loop. i know that to enter recovery mode you have to hold down power volume up and home and wait for the vibration but as soon as the battery is placed in the phone it begins the boot loop so i cannot turn the phone off to begin to go into recovery mode.

Welcome to Android Central! How long are you keeping the battery out? Keep it out for 30 seconds or so. Then reinsert it and see if it starts automatically.

yup still starts automatically

What if you have the correct buttons pressed while you're inserting the battery? You'll probably need at least 3 hands to do this.
