Stuck in bootloop

I was trying to use ROM manager to return to a back-up I made of the stock rom. I was running CM7. Now, I am stuck at the Google splash screen. I pulled the battery and booted into stock Android fastboot screen. However, when I try to enter recovery mode, I again get stuck at the Google splash screen. I have no idea where to go from here since I can't even boot into recovery.

Success. I tried to reboot into download mode and managed to get cm7 to boot. Then I ref lashed cwm from ROM Manager and attempted to reboot into recovery mode. Still stuck in boot loop. Went back to ROM Manager and enabled the option to erase recovery before reflashing. I was then able to reboot into recovery and restore. That was a fun morning.
