stuck on boot screen after ROM update

I just updated my SlimKat ROM for my hammerhead. After flashing I went to restore apps but didn't have root access. This has happened before and is fixed by flashing the superSU update. But since flashing that I've been stuck on the boot screen. Any help appreciated.

So you've been unable to get out of the boot loop on your Nexus 5? Can you reach any other screen? Recovery? Bootloader?
