Rom manager does not work on our phones. I don't know how or if it can be fixed. Hopefully someone with a little more experience can help

Try powering up holding down the down volume home button and power and releasing at the splash
That should open custom recovery. Restore your nand and don't use rom manager again

Yeah you used ROM Manager. Which was a bad idea. And wait, you deleted the recovery then tried to boot into the recovery that you just deleted? That won't work either. You're bricked, my friend. You could try the e-mode fix, but unless you can follow extremely precise instructions, best call Sprint.

i did try one e-mode fix but it hangs at checking the phone model. my backup is there on the sd card so i would think using adb it would be possible to fix. but thats another thing im havin trouble with is using adb i downloaded and sdk and created the root folder in program files but i just cant seem to access it. should it b n the x86 program files?

It shouldn't matter where its located from my understanding.

You can always go into a repair shop. From there its ur call. I don't endorse insurance fraud.

do u have that link drew? i will try again.

can you tell me why im getting permission denied when i try to push thunderc.img from my computer to my sdcard?
i was unable to get get that method to work from the previous link i posted because after following all the instructions the .exe file gave an error msg. now in my head im thinking why cant i just push the thunderc.img recovery onto my sdcard then flash it using adb? i just dnt understand why im getting permission denied in adb. whats weird is i can reboot the phone from adb and the gingersnap utility acts as if it installs again when i click go. but i am unable to get su permissions. should i push su.apk then flas from my sdcard?

GREAT NEWS! the good ppl over at sprint have decided they like me so much they are over nighting me a brand new (to me) optimus. thank you to all the ppl who helped me and in doing so taught me a great deal about adb...cheers:cool:

good stuff just hope they cant read the device when they test it... And good luck with the new device. Make sure you come back to the forum and do it the right way :) There are plenty willing to help and great threads.
