Stuck on 'Syncing 1 of 16'

I just got the watch. I downloaded the Android Wear app and connected the two but the watch is now stuck on the initial syncing. I gave it about ten minutes then decided to reset both the app on my phone and the actual watch itself (factory reset) along with restarting my phone. It's doing the same thing 'Syncing 1 of 16'. It's been stuck there again now for about 20 minutes.

EDIT: After putting the watch back on the charger and hitting 50%, I see that it's finally making some progress on the syncing. Hopefully that's all it was but it's still going really slow.

I think I remember something in the documentation stating to leave it on the charger during the initial setup.

I received mine 2 days ago. It came out of the box with 40% charge. It would not even let me proceed with updating AW on the device until I put it on the charger and it charged up to 50%.

Yeah I think you're right. When I booted the watch, it said let it get to 50% charged and then proceed. As soon as it hit 50%, I took it off to proceed but then that is when it stopped. I think it needs to stay at 50% or above to do the initial syncing. All is good now.
