Stuck on waiting for device after fastboot command

I also have a similar problem. I have a HTC explorer.
While rooting the device, after unlocking bootloader, I immediately relocked it by mistake. Now I'm not able to either root the device nor am i able to unlock it again.
Whenever I try to unlock it, it says waiting for device in command prompt..

yeah same here except I have and unlocked HTC Evo 4G
It was weird because I unlocked my device, rooted it and I thought evrything was great and it was....for a while untill my super user failed to gain root access! so here I am trying to re-root my HTC Evo but when my fastboot is set to FASTBOOT USB It DOES NOT connect to my computer! I was trying this method of rooting my phone again, which told me to enter things on the command prompt, when I realized my computer isnt detecting my Androids drive at all through FASTBOOT USB! If this helps, these are some of the things I typed in the command prompt:

C:\Users\Carlos>cd c:\

c:\>cd c:\android-sdk

c:\android-sdk>cd c:\android-sdk\platform-tools

c:\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb devices
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *

I stopped there because I just gave up. Help? ANYONE?

hey guys i have found a solution and just registered here to share it :>

i wanted to restore the original firmware from my htc one to sell it, so i installed the toolkit etc.
but it kept saying waiting for device, device offline...

here's what worked for me, after trying lotsa different strange stuff from the internets:
rebooted into clockworkmod recovery, then suddenly my pc went "hey a new usb device just connected". it installed the driver and then relocking the bootloader worked right away.

finally :)

i hope this can help someone.
cheers everyone

I had a similar issue. Turns out my phone would not connect on a USB 3.0 port. I have USB 2.0 port on my PC and when I plugged into that it worked fine. If you don't know if you have a 2.0 port, I'd check device manager or just try the phone on all your USB ports till it works.

Re: The Fix!!!!!!

I got a fix!!!!!
A have Ubuntu on my pc. I opened an terminal and i wrote (sudo fastboot oem get_identifier_token). With sudo you can perform all fastboot comands. :)

hey everybody :D i just found the solution for the topic.
1. install the flashtool
2. after install the flashtool, open cmd in administrator then type "bcdedit /set testsigning on" and then restart your pc
3. after pc your restart install the flashtool driver at "C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe" and select "flashtool driver & fastboot driver"
NOTED : when the installation process there will popup window warning just Click "install the software anyway"
4. after complete the installation, open the cmd in administrator again and type "bcdedit /set testsigning off" and don't forget to restart again your pc.
6. after restart your pc open the command promt at fastboot folder then type "fastboot devices" and you will see the list of devices in fastboot.
If not, you missing some steps. gudluck. I already done flashing my Xperia Z 4.4.2( Kitkat ) to 5.0 ( Lolipop ) :D

Spot on.. I had the same problem. Just followed your steps of re-installing the USB drivers for my android device from the computer's device manager manually.
And not my Nexus 4 is being recognized in fastboot
:D

what helped me was to stay in the screen with fastboot in the left lower corner (i wrongly went into the recovery mode)

Hi friends,i gat a phone stuck problem over....My OPPSON D1 was stuck in fastboot mode, and i mistakenly remove when the batterx when the phone is displaying the mode...but now,my phone is completely shutdown even when am charging it,it won't display any charging icon, whereas its battery has already been charged, and when connected to usb to p.c,it won't display any mobile found on the p.c screen.....Have read many posts online but didn't work, and am really fed up,and now i need a solution post that will put end to my phone problem. And they Say "A friend in need,is a friend indeed"....Please help me ooo

You need to put the phone into FASTBOOT mode. Turn it off, then while holding the volume buttons, push and hold the power button, once its on the opening screen, you should leave it there and it will say FASTBOOT mode
