Hi people,
I am Rick, I enjoy using my Android phones, am in my 20's and stumbled across this forum after dropping my galaxy s4 in the toilet...lol
It was in an otter box defender and I had a zagg screen over it under the case. Now it won't charge but will power on and function just fine, the port seems to be junk tho, tried multiple chargers. Its now in a ziplock full of rice atm just to see if works by a long shot. Either way, no way I am paying at&t $200 for another when they can fix it for virtually nothing (assuming it just need a new charger port.
A little back story on my android past.... (long read, no cliffs)
After having sprint for a service provider for a couple years and getting my new favorite phone a galaxy sII (does it all in a jiff). Well not long after that, it gets stolen and to add insult I get a call from the person on my friends phone RAGEEE!. So after trying to track the physical location via gps on sprint locator service and a back up ap I had, it couldn't be found due to sprints service in the area sucking too much.../
Moving on I drop sprint go to at&t, get that new S4. Happy until I dropped it in the toilet like a dummy.....(wasn't fapping I swear :/ was playing blood brothers while putting towels up behind it on a rack).

On another note, at&t over charges me monthly. I want to get out of my contract so bad now, its $145 a month for two lines, 1GB of data and that with me 25% discount WTF.
Well thats it for now, I will be lurking to see whats up with this site.

Welcome to the forums.
Bummer about the phones. Mean people need to go away.

Welcome to the forums. Although it seems like the port is bad, it could actually be something deeper that involves the charge functions of the device. Perhaps you can send it in to Samsung for a quote on repair.

If you have any questions let us know.

I wanted to order a new port, install it myself and see if that works. On another note, the phone will not charge/power with the dead battery in or out. If I put the battery in and plug the charger in, the phone will just vibrate and not power on or charge.
Can any of yous help find me a charge port replacement?
