Stupid question about emoji's

Can the Note 2 (or any other Android phone) accept and receive Emoji from iPhones without using GoSMS? I really am not a huge fan of it and really want to be able to send Emoji's to my fianc? and receive them from her without an issue. I can root and stuff if it'll help but I'd rather try to stick it out stock if possible. Just wanting to know if the option is similar to the iPhone and if the Emoji faces and such show up in a text like they do on the iPhone. I plan on getting a Note 2 this week but I'm not 100% sure I like not being able to be silly with my fianc?.

You don't need to use Go SMS. You can use Handcent. It works a little better and I can send emojis to my iPhone to my friend's S3 with no problem.

I use the "iPhone messages" app from the Play Store. Works great. Has a nice, clean interface. I hated Handcent and Go SMS.

I love Handcent. Using it with emojii and custom fonts. Many former iPhone users like the popup text bubble.

Isn't it the same as going to "insert, insert smiley"from the stock applications? I'm not sure if it will work, but I knew myself and my wife would exchange them when we started using the stock app over the att messages app.?

You are better off with either Go SMS Pro or Handcent. The stock message app is pretty bad. It doesn't work well with iPhone group message. It turns all multi pic MMS into slide shows. Your carrier may tailored also tailor the stock message app to limit size on MMS picture and you will end up with a really really small thumbnail pics in MMS. And the Note II (at least the US version) does not come stock with Android Keyboard. It has Samsung Keyboard and Swype and neither has emoji support.

Only in some apps like GoSMS. This is because the TTF format is only black and white, Apple uses a custom font format for their system-wide Emojis.
