ok everyone went through simple root and im rooted, i know this due to being #'d in adb, however when i type adb devices in the shell it says no devices found which i see as being odd... secondly in ROM Manager i go to flash clock work and its saying an error occured while attempting to run priviledged commands.... so what the heck is goin on???

Yea, this is actually the second time I've seen this happen.

For starters, you shouldn't be running adb devices in shell, that fixes that problem.

Secondly, in Rom manager, try running the fix permissions command. If that doesn't work, you need to unroot, and try using the unrevoked method. Though i personally like simple root best, i don't know where the disconnect is that's causing this issue.

Ha! I had this. I was able to use Unrevoked 3 and it all works now. Am told that you can also unlock NAND with the simpleroot tools for the full effect. I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
liquidjesus, thank you again for all of your help before.

Any time bluger, glad you finnaly got it to work, the funny thing is that suddenly, after reading this, ROM manager just gave me the same issue. lol

Fix permissions took care of mine though.

don't forget to make sure you get busybox from some where if all you do is root.

busybox? why?? and i did attempt to fix permissions and still not good

and gah i thought we checked devices in shell how do i go about that?

eh no worries, i just flashed a recovery, it finally worked so i get past that dreaded fake phone and red triangle crap from here its just like my hero was. ill stick to doin it the good ol fashion way rather then rom manager. i know what im doing that way =P thanks for the help comrade ;)

flashing calkulins right now as a test... seems to being doin just fine so i should be good! =D

there are commands in busybox you will need later. titanium backup is great to have and will make sure your busybox is complete.
