No need. Credit cards have enough protection. Suing a company over a $700 purchase is a guaranteed loss for your wallet and win for an attorney.

I know I'm being impatient, but I call Asurion, which took almost 45 mins to get a live rep on the phone and explained the situation to her, even though they have NO clue about Essential.

She couldn't even get in contact with David Brown. They've had my phone since Friday so it's almost a week tomorrow and still nothing back.

I know they probably have to sort through 1001 boxes. I just want this headache to be over.

Just got my refund notification via email stating my return has been processed. Hopefully the funds are returned to my card in short time.

As did I it was was immediately refunded back to Affirm. I'm glad to be officially done with this company despite the love I had for the phone. But I won't be back.

I agree the phone itself was awesome. I miss having it already. Customer service was mostly positive to me but they absolutely need better management and improved guidelines. I might be back but not before trying a Pixel 2 XL first.

I just submitted RMA request. Hopefully it goes smoothly. Great product but the wireless reception was killing me, cellular and WiFi.

Honestly I'd want until the second version comes out if there even is one

+1 waiting on the 2nd version. I was kind of interested in this but after reading these threads since release day I’m rethinking and will wait and see if the next gen comes out next year. With improvements.

I’m more interested in the 2nd gen pixel now. :)

Well I made the plunge to the Note 8. I just couldn't resist it. It's a solid great build but nothing like how the Essential felt. That phone was just amazing. But at the end of the day I feel I made the right call. Essential just aren't ready.

It took 12 business days to get the refund. They said it was because I filled a dispute with Affirm but idk if I believe that. If you used affirm you should file a dispute.

I had to email Essential on the 10th day to move things along

My refund posted to my card today. The refund took 8 business days total with one day burnt while I was waiting for a response to a question I sent them via email.

So, I guess I can chalk that up as a success.

I'd wait but I need a new phone before the end of the year. If the 2 XL doesn't fit my needs then I'll probably bite the bullet on another PH-1, then plan to upgrade if/when a second version is released. The only two phones on my radar are the 2 XL and PH-1.

I did the same. Filed a dispute with affirm. Got my refund. Glad to be done with this company.
