I have been getting great reception, (calls, 3g) in my apt since I've had the phone. But all of a sudden the past couple of days, my reception has dropped to almost zero. I've had no problems in any place in the apartment but now I'm getting no reception in any spot. I also had my first ever dropped call this morning with this phone. I've tried to reboot, also the *228 thing and still the same problem.

Could it be a problem with the phone? Or could it have something to do with verizon having an issue the past couple days in the area. I'm kind of lost and don't know how to figure out this problem.

Did you call customer service see if there is problems in your area,,its most likely a tower problem

Verizon and 4 other carriers rent space on a couple of our towers, I literally work under a cell tower. They kill power every couple of months for maintenance and sometimes they go down for days if something is broke.

3g

Holy ****ing ****, did Verizon suddenly ****ing say **** those ****ing assholes on 3g we want them to switch to 4g as soon as possible and pay us more ****ing money so they disable their ****ing 3g service? I have tried every kernel and rom combination I can find and my phone still has had trouble connecting to 3g for the past week. I'm going to call verizon customer service, but it will pretty much be the same rant I just did and I'm sure the vzw response will either be "we don't show any problem have you considered spendinga bajillion dollars to upgrade to out 4g lte service" or "we are aware of the problem and will have it corrected soon" For a definition of soon, refer to the timetable vzw is on when they say the fascinate will have froyo soon.

gee guess what. I called customer service and all I got was a message sayinng the ****ing piece of **** iphone is coming to vzw. I guess i have to call during normal business hours so I can talk to an actual person who will try and talk me into spending a quadrillion ****ing dollars to get the iphone or a zillion ****ing dollars to upgrade to a 4g lte piece of **** phone

Woah, relax dude. It's obvious that you're frustrated, but it's not the end of the world. If it really makes you that mad, sell your fascinate and use that money to cover your ETF. Keep in mind though, service isn't perfect, no matter where you go. Sometimes stuff breaks.

Unless you like yelling to a bunch of people who can't change your issues, then by all means carry on.

If you can't get 3g service what makes you think 4g will magically work?

Well my friend came over yesterday and his droidx was having the exact same issues with reception so I knew it wasn't my phone. I decided to just hold out another day. Everything seems all good this morning and I'm back to getting full reception. :)
