While uploading some file in any website, when I click the browse button, in the menu section there is this unknown file named downloadfile.bin
The location it shows is in download folder, but when I checked in download folder, I can't see/visible that file. I have tried using show hidden files but still it isn't showing there. I suspect some kind of malware or ransomeware. Kindly help me out how to delete this file before it cause any harm to my android device running on android 11 beta

Welcome to Android Central! You were uploading a file, or downloading a file? Can you give some examples of the websites where this seems to be happening?

Which phone do you have, and how are you looking at the Download folder? Use a good file manager app like Total Commander and look directly in the /Download directory. Also, if you're using Chrome, try tapping the Menu button, then Downloads, and see if it shows up there.

Thanks for creating an account, it makes communicating easier.

A couple of things about download folders;

There can be more than one "Download" folder. If your device has an SD card, there can be one in the internal memory and one on the SD card. Apps can have download folders as well. These may be accessible through a file manager or they may be in part of the app's folder system in a way that is not accessible. This makes reading the "full file path" important in locating the correct folder to find the file.

Thank you for the screenshot. I don't believe anyone was questioning if the file existed but I was questioning the file path. On a PC it might look like C:/Desktop/Downloads/Great pics/. On the phone it might look like /internal storage/Download/docs/. From the image you've shown, you should be able to press and hold the file until it is selected, then use the option button, probably going to be 3 dots at the top or bottom of the screen, details and that will show you the file path. If you navigate there do you find the offensive file?

Unknown file found in download folder maybe spyware or malware

Recently when uploading a file on a website, when I clicked on browse button for selecting the file, I saw a unknown file which I don't recognise .. it's in download folder. So I opened download folder but cudnt see/find that file. The file name starts with downloadfile.bin
To check, I uploded the file to virustotal but it showed nothing found. My problem is I wnat to remove the file which I cannot as I can't see the file in the downloads folder, even tried using show hidden files but no use. These days, my mobile acts weirdly , like location is on automatically, and some other weird actions which normally wouldn't happen. I suspect it is some kind of malware or ransomeware or spyware. Kindly help I don't want my mobile to be hacked and get loss of data and money.

Am sharing the uploaded file link here.. if some tech Guru or some super duper tech engineer can find out what it is, I will be much appreciated

It leads to this, for members who wish to download the file and examine it. I’m not sure that any members will.

If some tech expert knows how to examine it as probably there are ways for tech experts to examine file in safely and probably they know how to do it. Let's see if any one expert in this field does it..

So, to get rid of this file, I reset my phone & again somehow it comes back.. I did couple of resets but somehow I don't know how it comes back.. even just after reset, without installing any application or downloading anything, it still comes back.. anybody has any idea how it's happening again & again? Is it because I have android beta with July 2021 security update in my phone? Can there be any kind of security bug or loophole? Can my isp push some kind of stuff in my mobile for that security bug?
