Suddenly Amazing Battery Life?

I'm quite shocked about this. Last night I didn't plug in my Thunderbolt as I normally do, so I was sure that when I woke up my phone would be dead, as that always happens when I don't plug it in.

But this morning I wake up, and the phone is on with 30% battery left. I check the battery widget, and it's been off charger for over 21 hours. That's just looney, and I've had my Thunderbolt since the end of March. I rarely can go 14 hours without charging. And today the battery life has remained unusually strong.

I didn't do anything special to the phone; no special apps, didn't delete any apps; not even sure when the last time I soft reset it was. The only thing I did yesterday was to download that 10 cent Camera app as part of Google's app download promotion.

Can anything explain this? Is anyone else having a similar experience?

What network are you on? (4G, 3G, wifi)?

I find that if on wifi, my phone actually lasts a pretty long time, especially if on standby (i.e. I'm sleeping). Still though, I've definitely made it 24+ hours on a single charge with a standard battery, so it is possible. If the screen isn't on too much and/or you're not using that much data, the battery life will go up considerably.

I'm a noob when it comes to Tbolt ownership, (Nov 26th) and with the standard battery, I'm getting about 13 hours before I'm around 30%. thats with the constant on/off of the new phone purchaser, youtube about four times a day, and moderate web surfing. juice defender I'm sure contributes to that, I'm sure. and I stay in 4G all day.

I thought that maybe it was just me; but, the last 3 or 4 days my battery life has been awesome! I am currently 16 hours off charger and still at 47%. I saw an improvement when I put in rezound battery but this current battery life is unprecedented until the last few days. I had even double checked by software build just to see if it had changed to explain this sudden change. Either way, I'm not complaining I just hope it continues after the upcoming update.

If you're in 4G all day, that's pretty normal, if you ask me.

(WIFI and 3G extend my battery life...but it seems others have experienced different results)

For the last couple of months, I also had a suddenly improved battery life ... Then on Dec 15, 4G LTE is was turned on in my city (Manchester, NH) and since then battery performance has taken a nose dive.

I'm noticing incredible battery life also except with certain apps. Widget locker as cool as it is seems to drain my battery.

Remove juice defender. Using a task killer really isn't necessary on an Android device. It actually can use more juice.

Juice defender isn't a task killer. It disables data when the screen is off. It gives me over a day of battery life on my phone. As long as you don't mind no push notifications.

actually, I'm not using any task killer at all. I did on my Eris, but so far, I see no need for it.

I had been using Juice Defender for a long time. I decided to see what would happen if I stopped using it. I think my battery life actually got a little bit better, if at worst stayed the same.
