Suggestions on note taking apps?

I plan on buying a pen to write on my Kindle so I can take notes and not have to lug paper everywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions for an app that is good for note taking, one made for hand writing? Also, while I'm here, and suggestions on what pen to buy? Thanks all!
