So I just dropped my 2013 moto x and shattered the screen. I was thinking about ordering a moto g, but have a few questions first. I know it doesn't have NFC but is there any way to get NFC on it? Also does it have lollipop already and what is the battery life like?

I can't answer the battery life part, but the NFC needs radios installed in it, so it is missing a hardware feature. As for the OS, it looks like it is still on KK, but, I would guess it will get Lollipop soon.

No Lollipop yet. The battery life is, for me, comparable to my 2013 Moto G LTE.

Thanks guys. I'm torn between that and maybe just finding something else. The moto x uses a nano Sim, and kinda don't wanna deal with ordering another so. Card.

If I were you and I had the money I would get the new x and if you go to your carrier store, they could probably get you a new sim

Lollipop is out for this phone. I first sideloaded 5.0 in December, though I did have some issues with that, and I'm on 5.0.2 as of an OTA update this morning. It's being rolled out gradually, so it hasn't been pushed to some phones yet, but they should all have it soon. You could always sideload in the meantime.
