Voodoo doesn't make a big difference on the leaked Samsung FroYo kernel (the only functional FroYo kernel at the moment be it stock, deodexed, AOSP)

its really not all that scary but it is not that much beneficial and in some cases detrimental, the memory that the fascinate uses was not meant to be repartitioned so messing up your memory isnt exactly out of the scope of possibility. so the minimal speed that it gives isnt really worth the risk as far as im concerned

for eclair, I thought it was a huge boost, much more than I had expected. you're right, for froyo, I can't tell as much of a difference if I have voodoo or if I don't.

so how can voodoo mess up your memory? for me, I don't see much risk in whatever small speed increase, as I want all the speed increases I can get!

the internal memory was not designed to be repartitioned and be run that way. its possible to cause memory failure.
