i have a motorola milestone , just rooted my phone using the superoneclick method and it was smooth , thnx to the video by unlcker
and then i followed theor method to load a custom rom, HER IS MY PROBLEM
...
after opening the rom manager i flashed the clockworkmod recovery , and then as the video says reboot into recovery , i do tht n then ...
A WHITE COLOUR TRIANGLE ON THE SCREEN WITH A YELLOW EXCLAIMATION MARK

plz temme wht do i do nw , i have even copied the custom rom i wanted to load on the sd card so wht to do next .. detail steps will b helpful

and one more thing - in the video they use nexus one so the options in the recovery mode for both cells is different ( i reached her after pressing the volume up and camera button )

Restart your phone and boot it up holding Power + X (that is the method on the Droid at least to get into recovery)

If you have a triangle with a exclamation point you don't have a custom recovery and possibly aren't rooted.

But once you get to that screen you can press volume up and camera to get into your stock recovery settings.

factory reset/wipe data
wipe cache
install ROM from sd card (if you have that option)
find ROM click it, let your phone do the rest
then reboot

or just download ROM Manager from the market because it makes it really easy for noobs to flash ROMs and make backups and flash a custom recovery.

ull need to remember ive rooted my phone using superoneclick method

in the rom manager i flashed clockworkmod recovery
then it says successfully downloaded clockworkmod recovery!

then then i reboot into recovery
i get 4 options
1. reboot system now
2. apply sd card : update.zip
3. wipedata/factory reset
4. wipe cache partition

E: can't open /cache/recovery/command ( i get this also written )

in the vid it says take a backup , but i dnt c ne option of taking the backup .. ???

It doesn't matter the method of how you rooted your phone.

When you click on boot into recovery from ROM Manager, does a superuser screen pop up and ask you for permission?

With only those 4 options you don't have clockworkmod recovery, it sounds stock.

And you don't have to be in recovery to do a backup, try it from within ROM Manager. click backup current ROM and it will do the rest for you.

k i clicked backup current rom and then phone restarted to tht point wher i had to press the volume up and then cam

then i get 4 options
1. reboot system now
2. apply sd card : update.zip
3. wipedata/factory reset
4. wipe cache partition

E: can't open /cache/recovery/command ( i get this also written )

nw wht do i do ?

You have stock recovery so you can't create a back-up.

Try and flash clockwork recovery from within ROM Manager again.

But if it doesn't work and you still want to load the custom ROM:
1. wipe data/factory reset
2. wipe cache
3. apply sd card: update.zip
