Superuser Disappearing After ROM Install?

I have the Sprint HTC Hero, rooted a couple days ago, and flashed to my first custom ROM (Buufed). In doing so, I did a backup, then wipe. ROM Manager shows that I'm runnong the custom ROM, but it doesn't seem like I'm rooted? My Superuser app disappeared, and since its gone, I can't run any root related apps. Any idea where i went wrong? Obviously I can't access any of my rooted apps anymore (Tether, Clockwork, SetCPU, Root Explorer, etc).

I believe you could probably just run unrevoked 3 on your phone to get root access again. Or you could load a rom that has it preinstalled.

was the rom u loaded rooted??? this is what happens when u load a stock ROM if u need to take a phone back for warranty issues.
