And I cant use root permissions, or uninstall superuser since it was saved as a system app.. Cant run terminal (even though I hardly can claim to know how to). I also cant seem to overwrite the stock recovery.. I dont know how many stressful circles ive gone round and round

Use Root Checker to help troubleshoot. Do you even have terminal emulator installed? What ROM and where did you get it?

Im still on stock rom, but have a rebornrom.zip on my sdcard from a pc. Ive tried running root checker but it says my phone isnt rooted and the superuser FC. I had the terminal but it gets FC cause superuser FC.. im really good with technology, but I think this kind is out of my element.

You are not rooted. Therefore, you have no use for Superuser.apk, even if you were able to install it from the market. It's like hiring a babysitter without having a kid, then wondering why she leaves shortly after you call her over to your house every time. Superuser.apk is a permissions management GUI, similar to UAC on Windows or gksudo on Linux/Mac; it limits access to administrative functions when you have administrator rights. This is different from the su binary that, when installed, allows you to perform the administrative or root user tasks.

Having the Reborn ROM zip on your SD card is nice, but does nothing except take up space unless flashed via a custom recovery on your rooted phone.

Solution: You need to root your phone using the method appropriate to which ever baseband you are on. ZVD is arguably fewer steps, but you have to use works with the setup you have. Then you can install your custom recovery, do a backup, flash a ROM, etc. See the Welcome Gude already.

I sincerely appreciate your help, but if youre gunna talk down to me like a nobleman to a peasant then you can keep your wisdom I dont want it. Do you know how many guides, tutorials, and how to threads ive been through? Personally, when I see a post distressing something Ive went through I feel humble to be able to potentially save them hours of stress.

LOL at you casting me as nobility. I, sir, am but the humble doorman around here. I apologize if you interpretted my tone as condescending in some way. I did just ask a handful of questions and expeditiously help you get to the (pardon the pun) root of your problem, as well as point you in the right direction to remedying the situation on a Saturday night, nonetheless.

I freely admit that some of us do get frustrated when we take the time to spell things out here, only to have so much of it ignored in favor of assumption and convenience. I have little patience left for folks who use ROM Manager and then expect help in unscrewing it and then act like getting the drivers installed is our responsibility. I read your other threads and thought: Did he read anything we have posted here? So maybe I am a little less warm than you'd appreciate.

I do respect your efforts to explore your Optimus S and hope that you are able to resolve your issues swiftly and explore some of the great custom mods we have here. I hope to see you around and participating in our forums as you continue your journey.

I"m now going to find something better to do with my Saturday night than hang on these forums. Cheers to all!

Ive been trying to get a hand on this concept for two months. Those posts you were reading? They were the first posts Ive made inquiring for help.

I will be participating in these forums. With humility and understanding, cause I wont forget about the day I had to finally break down and beg for help.

Enjoy your night
