Surprising (to me) discovery - Samsung Notes

So this morning I was quickly jotting down a note on my phone and, after completion, I was prompted to complete an app review for Google Play. For the longest, I thought this app was only available on Galaxy Store. In fact, I checked my device, and my app shows as coming from the Galaxy Store. Is this a new thing? Or has Samsung Notes been available in the Play Store for awhile? And if anyone knows, if you're using Samsung Notes on a non-Samsung device (like a P7P), is there any lost functionality?

Pretty sure it's been that way for as long as I've owned Samsung phones, which is only since the S10 series.

But just because an app is available on Google Play doesn't mean you can install it on any device. If you search for Samsung Notes from a Pixel, it won't appear.

I agree. If the app is only available to Samsung devices, not sure why it would even be in the Play Store.

It doesn't show up when i search on play store , i was able to see because i have my Samsung device on the same account and checked non apps on pixel
