Swift key vs google L keyboard.. Which do u prefer??

I don't know if this has been covered already or not but you can get the dedicated number row with the google keyboard. It's explained at the end of the Android Authority, Nexus 6 tips and trips youtube video that's 6:02 long.
I didn't know this, thanks! That's the only reason I didn't use the Google keyboard.

I've used Google Keyboard mostly. The other keyboards end up lagging or clunky to use. I'm trying out the neural SwiftKey at the moment. I'm not annoyed with it like I had in the past,so that's something

Does anyone know if there's a way to make the Google keyboard left side or right side oriented for our massive big screened phone? Lol that's mostly why I'm using SwiftKey or any other keyboard for that matter. Other than that, I do love the stock Google keyboard.

I think there's no way to resize the Google keyboard unless you root your phone and install some Xposed module.

That's okay thanks. Didn't think so but figured I would ask for your honest.

For those of you using the Google keyboard do you have the number row inserted at the top?

When I did it , it seemed to make the whole keyboard shift left and added punctuation to the right.

You're actually right. I used to use the Google keyboard with the number roe enabled, and it was an awkward keyboard to type on. It was left side oriented, and there were overall 2 blank spaces to the left and right side of the space bar. Google should've put the period, and comma symbols there, or something.

And just to be clear, the title says Google L keyboard.... Is that a different variations of the stock or main Google keyboard in play store?

No I think it just means the lollipop keyboard that's all.

SwiftKey neural is supposed to use artificial intelligence to learn your tone and find out what words you group together beyond the standard ones, and how you talk to certain people. It showed a concept on their website where the keyboard would eventually be able to recommend a whole phrase to respond to a message rather than just the first word.

Wow, sounds cool. How can you get beta? You'd think they could or would add a personal dictionary as simple as that would be for shortcuts...

The alpha is available on the play store

I'm using the keyboard currently. It's nice and fluid at predictions, and speed. All in life. Not too many complaints if any about it whatsoever.

Count me in as another still satisfied user... I've been using GK almost exclusively for a while now. The other keyboards usually drive me nuts at somepoint... they are buggy, choppy, laggy in spots. I know SwitftKey was a total mess a few months ago when I took a look at it. It only lasted about 5 minutes and I got sick of how choppy and slow it was.

I've been running the neural alpha for a few days now and I haven't gotten angry by it yet... :) which is a substantial improvement. I am still getting used to the layout a bit (its a bit more busy than the GK), but I'm happy with the performance so far. Needs more themes though... the alpha only comes with two and they are a bit of an eyesore. But that's fine.... I'd rather it function properly than look good. So its promising.

I downloaded the neural and have been using it for a few hours. Very good prediction. I can type faster on it for sure. It seems to correct better than any I've used so far. Wish it had more themes.

I can type good on the Google keyboard also but it seems the letter rows are higher than those on Samsung or SwiftKey and I feel like I have to reach to get to the top row.

Yes ma'am I agree. The normal keyboard by SwiftKey has XM Productions is pretty comfortable without lag to type on. The Google keyboard is nice don't get me wrong. However, $50 to resize and for the Nexus 6 big screen like I said before and predictions made typing fast very easy to be done.
