Swiftkey Update

oh crap. that's terrible news. they take everything great and ruin it. I'll likely be looking for a new keyboard now.

No lag for me on SwiftKey. Can't say the same about the Samsung keyboard, it's killing me with its slowness.

MS has owned SwiftKey for more than two years now. Why is it all of a sudden ruined now that you know who owns it?

Try Gboard. I have used swiftkey for years without any issues, however my lady showed me Gboard and it is pretty good. The "swipe" feature isn't as good as swiftkey but there are definitely some benefits to switching. Give it a try

I've used Swiftkey long before MS acquired it. I find the predictive text to me miles ahead of Gboard. With the update, it's even better.

I guess I need to let it, "learn." The upshot is that it forces me to pay attention to what I'm typing. Otherwise, what I type looks like it was typed by a drunken lemur.

Those drunken lemurs have the worse penmanship!

My keyboard is nothing but lag now sometimes completely freezing my texts or emails, and the prediction has gotten absolutely awful. What happened to this awesome keyboard!?

I think Microsoft hired a drunken lemur to write the predictive text engine for Swiftkey.

Last week, a friend texted me that she had our opera tickets. It was early in the morning so I sent (what I thought) was, 'I thought that was next week." What actually got sent was, "I thought it was gherkin week."

At no time have I EVER used the word "gherkin" previous to that text....EVER.

Update: Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Eugene Onegin is a real jerk!

Uhm, MS bought Swiftkey like 3 years ago.

which makes so much sense now. thanks. has been screwing crap up for a long time and I put it on swiftkey. turns out it's MS. Between MS and Android and Samsung, I've decided to go with Apple from here on. I have had to fix every prediction for a long time AND I am sick of Sammy's forced updates.

if what chanchan05 says is true, swiftkey is irretrievably boinked. it hasn't been right for awhile now and it's had... 3 YEARS to get my stuff right. way to crap up a great app (previously) MS, like everything else you do.

Which is weird, because I used to own the Lumia Icon and the Microsoft's Word Flow (swype equivalent) worked really well. The texting world record was set using Word Flow. Why couldn't Microsoft just make Word Flow work on Android? *sigh*
