Switched back to Nova

I'm still on One UI which is shocking lol. I usually go to Nova day one. Will probably go to Nova down the road but surprisingly ok for now.

I've been using One UI for a while and like it very much; but I went back to Nova just so I could change my icons (lol). Yes, you can change icons on One UI but not all apps get themed and I personally hate that look.

I'm with you why download a theme and all apps not get the same type look. Drives me crazy

I gave one UI a chance and it was ok. I couldn't take not having some of the features that Nova provided so I went back. The hidden folder option was the main one. I'm curious what launchers are you else using.

I use Microsoft Launcher. I'm a beta tester, so sometimes its a little flaky. It's solid overall though. I'd used Nova previously, but Microsoft had everything I wanted. It also does hidden folders too. I'm more in the Microsoft ecosystem than I am in Google's so it made more sense for me to use it.

I tried the native launcher, but went back to Nova Launcher Prime pretty quick. I love folders, and I have my home screen folders icon-ed with the main program within that opens when you touch the folder - swipe to open. I am impressed with how the native UI now incorporates some of the NLP features, but not enough for me. Now, if I could get Note Buddy to work so I could have my light sabre sounds back for the stylus life would be complete.

I'm in the same boat. I love NLP for the folder icons. I don't want a picture of apps. I put pictures in my folder icons that represents what is in the folder overall. A generic controller for games, a picture of people for social, etc. Makes it easy to find. I'll have to try this swiping the folder icon thing.

I hope Note Buddy gets working. I've saved my lightsaber files through 4 different Notes now.

The folder preview of just four icons is good for my old eyes, I hate how IPhone shows 9 looking like grains of sand in the folder previews.

Interesting how different people use Nova. I only show the most used app in a given folder. Select the app and it runs. Swipe up and it opens the entire folder. I find this much cleaner, and I've gotten very accustomed to the positioning of everything. So this Peet's Coffee icon that says "Food" under it represents all of my fast food apps.20190912_000210.gif

I keep trying to NOT use Nova....but I always come back. Gestures plus hide the status bar FTW.

I tried to use the stock launcher , but I couldn't. I have gotten used to being able to change how my folders looks and other little things that Nova does.

My Note Buddy works fine with my Note 10+ and Nova. I have lightsaber sounds.

I had issues with my Note 8, though.

I DO get periodic notifications that it's running in the background and potentially draining my battery, but my battery life is great and I ignore it. Just wish I could whitelist it so I don't get the notification.

Yep, that's exactly what I do as well. And if there are only two related apps, swiping up just takes me to the other one instead of a folder.

Anyone use icon packs? I'm trying hard to not get into that or alternative launchers just because I find it feeds on OCD tendencies. I must have purchased a couple dozen icon packs. Since I've moved back from the Max to the Note 10+ I haven't DL'd any of them.

I'm gonna be in the minority here, but I think most 3rd party icon packs are tacky.

I like Samsung theme store to change just icons

I like the Samsung theme store icons as well.... except they do not them an google apps or 3rd party apps like facebook, Instagram, snapchat. That is where I'm disappointed in Samsung theme'ing, it's one of the reasons I'm considering Nova and 3rd party icons
