Ok, so I switched from an iPhone to a Razr a few weeks ago and have ever sense I have had a problem receiving text's from any of my friends with iPhones. Has anyone had this problem? I'd say it's on the apple side because when they send me a text it acts as though it's trying to send it through iMessage which in turn takes it about at a minimum of 5 minutes for it to finally send the text if i ever receive it on my phone. They have all deleted me from their contacts and re added me and the problem persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You left the imessage option turned on, on your old iPhone. Simply turn that off in settings>messaging>imessage..that should solve the issue. Also all the text you received will still be on your device, so you can check them.

That solution didn't work for me, and I'll tell you...Apple does not give a damn. I spent a total of eight hours on the phone with multiple different people, they promised to call me back and never did. It's been six days and they cannot find a solution for this problem.

They have told me that I have no other option but to wait 30 days in hopes that the glitch will sort itself out. They offered no help, not even a courtesy phone to use in the meantime. The "management" team refuses to speak directly with any one on the phone and just tell their employees to tell the person calling in that 'nothing can be done. wait the thirty days'.

So, I am interested to know if anyone knows the legalities of this issue. Can Apple legally render my phone number useless for thirty days or more? They've also suggesting that I go spend money to purchase a new iPhone.

Isn't a monopoly illegal? Can they actually force me to be their customer like this? I am enjoying the new Android but am at a complete loss as to what to do.

Help :(

Apple has no authority or control over your phone number. The phone number is yours and it is under the control of Verizon (if that is your wireless carrier).

As j1787 suggested, make sure iMessage is turned off on your old iPhone as well as any other device you have (iPad, iPod touch, etc). By default the iMessage is turned on so any one with an apple product that sends a message, it will check to see if any device you own with your email account associated with is online and it will send it that way. If iMessage does not see any device online then it will send it via text to the mobile number it is associated with.
