Switched Over From WP8

I recently switched over from an HTC 8x (obviously running WP8). And I can safely say that Android and this phone are really at the pinnacle of the phone market, despite HTC's recent downhill turn. Anyone else switch from a different platform just to have a chance to use an HTC One?

I wouldn't say I switched from WP8 because I still have my WP8 phones that I use on occasion but 95% of the time use my Android (S4). Glad to see you are enjoying the HTC One, I spent time with both before making my final decision on the S4 and love it too. Android world is a great place to be right now!

Yeah, I still have my HTC 8x handy in case anything happens. And that is definitely true.

I switched from the hTc Touch Pro straight to the Galaxy S2 a long time ago and never looked back to Windows mobile. I now own both, the S4 and the One and I use the One as my daily driver and gave my daughter the S4. We both couldn't be happier!

I just wanted to chime in and say WELCOME to android and the One!

I love Windows Phone but I'm an Android fan as well.

I've been using WP since WP7 launched with an LG Optimus 7. When WP8 launched I bought an HTC 8X which I love to this day and consider one of the best phones on the market and it's greatly underrated.

I switched to a Lumia 920 a month ago but it had some battery issues and light leaking from a side of the screen. My carrier had other 920's but they had the same problem.

As I like Android as well I thought of jumping to Android with the HTC One and wait until the next gen of Windows Phone come out (this holiday season so I've read).

The One is the best designed phone out there, hands down. In the software side, Sense 5 surprised me with it's slickness and features. I could change a thing or two, but it's great as it is. I still think that Windows Phone is the best OS in terms of usability and design, but Android has more customization options and the phones have powerful features and components that WP devices don't have at the moment.

One of the things I miss the most is the dedicated camera button with two-step shutter that every WP phone has. The One and its camera could be more awesome with a dedicated button, specially for the quick shutter the HTC incorporated but I guess we can never be 100% happy with feature sets on any device.

At the end of 2013 I will ponder switching to WP if there is a phone that can compete with the One in design and performance.

I switched over from an iPhone @ AT&T to an HTC One @ Sprint.

I was reeeeally trying to hold out for a nice windows phone to come out at Sprint but just couldn't wait any longer... Not with that sexy a$$ HTC One taunting me ha ha.

Work pays for Sprint service so I had to jump. I previously had AT&T & before that Verizon both @ $100+ per month. I wanted a 920 @ AT&T or Verizon but not for $1200.00+ a year.

It has been a little bit of an adjustment going from iOS to Android but not bad. I have to admit I LOVE the HTC One. Kinda wish I had gone with silver instead of black tho! But it is so much more fun for me.

I think change is good...My next phone may be a Windows Phone actually. I like to experiment. My kid has a Win8 phone and loves it...But when he comes over to BBQ or work on his truck he usually checks out my phone, and vice-versa. I do prefer the One right now over anything out there because of the speakers.

Yeah, I feel the same way. When I got my HTC 8x, I honestly thought it was the best phone on the market. The design, thinness, camera and the WP8 experience was beyond compare. I agree windows phone is overall a to OS, despite some of the lacking customizations and support for the platform, but that is to be expected from a relatively new operating system. I still own both phones just because I really can't/ don't want to completely get rid of my HTC 8x, it was honestly a well built, well designed phone, in my opinion.

I switched from a WP7 HTC Arrive to the HTC One but planning to switch back to Windows Phone once the Lumia 925 goes on sale for t-mobile. Android/HTC One is a fine phone but i prefer the Windows Phone OS. I installed and signed up for instagram as soon as I switched over to Android to see what the big deal was but after 2 months, i still don't know what the big deal is. Android has a lot more games but for the most part, I miss the Windows Phone UI.
