Switched screen lock to pattern now it will not unlock even with correct pattern

Try first a Power Off and Restart.

Welcome to Android Central! It's always hard to troubleshoot this kind of thing, because the only possibilities are (a) you're entering the incorrect pattern, or (b) something glitched with the system. In either case, you're stuck, because there's no way to recover the pattern (otherwise, it'd be a poor security measure).
