Switching Camera Apps

I want to use the Google camera app as my primary camera, but I still want to be able to use the shake to open camera feature. Anyway I can get around this?

No. The gesture is for the stock camera only. Motorola has not provided a way to define it for other apps.

If it's like the Moto X, the twist to launch action is actually a feature of the stock camera app itself and can't be used to launch a different camera app.
