switching from clockwork to amon-ra

sry if this is a noobie question but how do i switch? I'm not too familiar with the EVO coz it's my wife's phone. i have an epic where i can just odin back if i want.

can i just flash something in clockwork and it will switch to amon-ra? or do i have to go back to stock and reroot again? if any1 can help me out with some info or a link to some info or where i can download what i need, i will greatly appreciate it. i've been searching for a few days now and haven't found anything specific.

No, don't reload stock. Take a look at the ROM Manager app, it allows you to flash an 'alternate recovery', which is amon-ra. Or, for the developer page and install, see [Recovery] [09-Feb-2011] RA-supersonic-v2.3 - xda-developers

Thx I'll take a look at it, im unfamiliar with rom manager coz it doesn't work on my epic

ROM Manager is in the market if I remember correctly. It's pretty brain-dead to use if you are already rooted, just install it and select from the first menu.

I tried it, but when i boot into recovery, it's still clockwork. Also the sd partitioning from rom manger didn't work. I did exactly as the thread in the link said in the second method. Am i doing something wrong?

Not sure, many possible issues when updating. If you tried ROM manager way, then I would look doing it 'The bootloader way' in the link above and use the PC36img.zip. That should bypass any issues with using an app.

Had one particular rom I wanted to flash, and the clockwork alternative amon-ra didnt work...had to install an amon-ra zip. Like tayl428 stated above change the name PC36img.zip from bootloader
