I upgraded from a Galaxy S6 Edge to the S8+.
I had multiple languages installed on the S6 Edge which I accessed by "sliding" the space bar. I set up 3 additional languages in Settings>Languages and Input>Language on the S8+ as I had done on the S6 Edge.
When I went to use Simplified Chinese in an email, I found that I could not "slide" the space bar to switch languages. After looking at various options, I found that there is a second setup that you need to do.
To the left of the space bar on the keyboard, there is a multi-function key which allows switching from Keyboard to microphone, to clipboard, to Emojis and to Setting for the Samsung keyboard. Select this settings and select Languages and types > Manage Input Languages and set up the additional languages that you want to use (maximum is 4). This enables the "sliding" space bar to select languages as i could do with the S6 Edge.
