Switching to Note 3 from iPhone 5

I to have been a avid Iphone user from the 3 all the way to the 5. I swiched from BB years ago. I have never used or attempted to use a android device until now and have decided to stick my foot in the water with the note3. I'm starting to have issues with my 5 and it will be the third replacement phone. Not to take anything away from apple all of my tec products are apple. But the phone is the most used for business which is limited. I hoping to also replace using 2 devices with the note as well and you guys can guess what the other is. I'm excited and worried at the same time as some of you can imagine. I'm glad I found this forum so I can figure out how this monster works!!!

I too have the iPhone 5, and am literally out of contract on it Oct. 14....I canNOT wait to purchase the Note 3. I had the Note 2 for a period of time and absolutely loved the device. iOS and Apple has left me feeling out of date, bored, and in the cold. I despise iOS 7, and am finally ending the addiction to Apple once and for all.

I could never go back to iOs, I like to have options with my phone and Android delivers, if I dont like something I can change it. With apple I just felt locked on what I could do. While that might work for some. I couldn't take it anymore.

The customization I can do with Android makes it seem like a new phone all the time..

I think the Android OS has come of age with the Jelly Bean update. It's come a long way. I'm absolutely loving this new Google keyboard too! So much better than the stock Samsung keyboard. I've been using Android since before Gingerbread. I've had my fair share of frustration and gnashing of teeth ;-)

Yeah, I wanted to get a taste of jellybean before making the leap, so I put it on my old rooted incredible, which is not supposed to be able to run it... It had a touch of lag, but for the most part ran smooth and looked great, it is a much more mature system than it was under gingerbread and if it can run on the incredible, I can't wait to see it on the Note 3.

A new review with the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean vs iOS 7 made by the guys from Pocketnow........

I know the feeling especially the addiction, as the days get closer to release, the more anxious I'm feeling, but at the same time having doubts.

I need an intervention lol!!

This is exactly what I want, the ability to do whatever I WANT, not what I'm told to have.

iPhone 5 has been discontinued, so if anything where to go extremely wrong with your phone, you would have NO choice but to upgrade. The more research I do about apple makes me dislike them more and more

Actually, Apple keeps replacement phones around for a long time. They have to in order to support people who purchased Applecare. If you are disliking Apple more because they aren't supporting their customers, you may relax in the knowledge that they actually are.

To my understanding , all iP5 were being discontinued and once everything sold out in stores, that was it. My mistake if I understood that wrong. Thanks for clarifying that.

I just went to the website to watch it, I don't think it's the same one you posted.

It is ..
You'r really getting into Android huh ? ;)
Is this your first Android device ? Do you know how to Root and Rom ?
I can teach you but it is a little risky- You just really need to read up before jumping into anything.
I've never had anything bad happen to me.

Yup, I'm really doing it, my first android. A lot of what I've been reading and watching is very techie. I'm the kind of chic who just pushes the on button and calls it a day, don't know how it works, only that it works. Lol bad huh

Nah not really .. It's just that you have many more options and functions once your device is rooted with a custom Rom on it .
If there is anything you don't like you can get rid of it. Use your favorite colors etc..
You can make the device faster too with nice apps and better battery life.

Once I'm comfortable with the phone, I'll experiment with different things. From what I've been watching on video, the os systems are pretty similar. It sucks because I have to wait, I have no droid to play with in the meantime.

Is it safe to root, it won't screw up your phone?
