swithcing to ffc crashes camera app

when i open up the camera app and then switch to the front facing camera, it instantly crashes something like (com.android.camera) then says to try again.

but if i were to attach an image to an sms via camera i can switch it there no problem.

anyone else have this problem?

Yup, same here.

Any workarounds? I noticed that the front camera doesn't crash if you switch to video mode first, and then to the front camera, but otherwise the same as you - it crashes immediately in the Camera application, but when sending MMS and selecting the camera, it works fine.

Strange. It's working fine on mine. Still I would like to hear any solutions if the problem pops up on my phone as well.

Working fine for me. Try clearing camera cache under applications.

Couldn't clear the cache, but COULD clear data, and that did the trick - working as expected now! Thanks!

I just tried going to the camera app and choosing ffc mode and mine works with no problem

Clearing the cache and data is always the first thing I try when having an issue with most apps. Glad it fixed your issue.

I had the same issue with my front facing camera on my HTC Thunderbolt. Clearing the cache did the trick. Thank you so much for posting that fix!
