wow, someone needs some sleep... So lets see, an issue with email not working or NOT GETTING 3G... Never said I couldn't get to the home screen on a android... But your right, pre has won awards, doesn't has 3G issues with their flag ship phone, doesn't have 3 or 4 versions running around on different phones... So andriod can take a bideo, pre gets it soon... But if that's your argument and video is that important quit being a cheap butt and buy a thing called a camcorder lol nerd! What's t mobile's 3G speed? And if it is faster then cool... Then what will you say when sprints 4G ANDROID comes out?
=rufflez;37156]Sounds like you made your decision. Go get the Pre and shut up. The pre releases new updates about every 5 weeks because they broke something with a previous update like exchange support or lost all your contacts or they are adding basic phone features like video recording on a device that programers have been working on for OVER A YEAR! If you want to deal with hardware issues and waiting for **** to come and it never does, just go to Sprint or Verizon and pick up your Palm Pre. Log in to precentral.net and leave us alone here. Try to find a post in there forums saying: "Thank god I made the switch from android to webos" It doesn't exist for a reason, people are moving the other direction.
BTW, I'm sorry you're a moron and can't figure out how to get to the home screen. There are two to three ways to do it, Press Home, which leaves the program open, back out until you're back to the home screen which closes the program, or click on menu to see if there is an exit button. It's not rocket science. Webos and Apple Iphone had way more problems when Google released than the N1. Plus, you can manually fix the issue by forcing it into 3G mode. FYI: T-mobile has a faster 3G network than either Sprint or Verizon. ******.

Not only video, but also voice recognition software for dialing and opening programs and recognizing songs with programs like Shazam, which I use quite frequently. I used that on my LG Dare. Also, T-Mo/ATT/VZW are all adopting LTE and its going to be about 20Mbs peak, Sprints WiMax is 10Mbs. T-mo's current HDSPA is 7.5Mbs or something, but the network is 4th and the coverage is spotty (Sprint is too). ATT has OK coverage, but complains it drops calls because of all the iphone users hogging up the 3G (I call BS). VZW does have the best network around for coverage and reliability. Having said that, I'm happy I don't pay the bill I would on VZW because I have Sprint. Since I live in FL, I have 3G just about everywhere in the state but the Everglades.
Like I said, its not that the N1 can't do 3G. Watch youtube, it does 3G quite well, smokes anything with load times. It only happens in some markets. It only does 2G on ATT due to the different 3G frequencies, but ATT sucks, so who really cares. I haven't found a thing the Palm Pre does better than my Hero. Just like Apple, "there's and app for that" except theres a better change this useful app will be free. With this phone, I don't miss my ipod touch (it was stolen, not like I voluntarily parted with it). This phone does all the stuff that device did, plus its expandable to 32gb (can't wait for those cards to come out). With the pre, you're stuck with 8gb, 7 of which is usable. Right now, I have more than that with an 8GB sd card. If you get a pre, you will probably have to patch it to do whatever. If Palm pushes an update while you are sleeping, and you leave your phone patched, it will screw up your phone since patches mess with system files. I don't have to worry about that on my Hero. If HTC wants to release 2.1 tomorrow, I'm good to go. I'm not so sure there's going to be a huge benefit. the only thing I'm looking forward to is trying out the Google Nav with streetview and google goggles. I can wait though as I have Sprint nav which works well and google goggles is still in its infancy and not fully functional this moment, still a cool concept though. I'm not really stoked about the moving wallpapers. I'll probably play with it for like 5 minutes, then change it back to what I have now.
Palm also doesn't have profiles, something all their previous phones had. I doubt you're a business guy, but you could set a profile to change features on the phone. Blackberry does this, too. The Hero allows me to customize the Screens for whatever situation I'm in. I don't need patient's seeing my Garfield homescreen while I'm working.
Speaking of working. Lexi-comp, a program I use for work, was unopperable on the Pre. Its available in the market now, but its too useless because of how slow it runs. The android version runs much nicer. Not as nice as the iphone version, but still, it works well. They were programmers that got screwed when Palm changed the format on how their programs would work. I was a beta tester for the program and I received an update that crashed the program altogether.
I don't see you're point with 3 different versions of Android in circulation. So what? Most of the apps work from 1.6 and up. There are things that don't work on the Pixi that work on the Pre, and they run the same OS version. You're right, its late and I can't sleep and therefore, I'm grumpy. Have fun with your Pre. See you in 30 days before you're stuck with it.
For the record, I did have issues with 3G service sticking on one of my Palm Pre's which is why I got a 4th. It was constantly switching from 3G to 1x.
