Swype Issue

So hopefully there will be an update soon to fix the swype issue I have where I can't select the symbol key. If I want to type numbers, I have to do the long press on the letter key that has the corresponding number on it.

Also, the capital letter key doesn't work either.

Anyone else having these problems?

Right with you. Swype is acting like one of those terrible kids on Maury Povich. I tell it to do something and it says, "Whatevuh, I'll do what I want."

Working fine for me so far. As an alternative for numbers try swyping from the swype key to the f and it changes to the numeric keyboard.

Ok...I done screwed up...I was having the same swype issue as above, so a friend told me to download the swype beta, now I can't get swype to work at all. I tried a factory reset and no go. Does anyone have any ideas?

It looks like an older version of Swype is preloaded, which I'm not a big fan of. I'll be removing this one and redownloading Swype 3.0 which is much better.

Hmmm, I went into to apps to uninstall Swype and it doesn't look like it's an option. Can others uninstall the preinstalled version?

Mine was working fine when I initially read this thread, then I had a OTA update come stating it was fixing the lock screen issue (which wasn't an issue for me.) After the update dl the swype number functions weren't working.

as far as I am aware you can't uninstal the prinstalled version of swype. Also the lates beta generaly does not work if swype is preinstalled.

Swype works on mine as well... I just don't like it as much as the new beta 3.0. So I was looking to uninstall the current one and then install 3.0

The other day I noticed several issues with Swype.

1. Doesn't show the trace.
2. Sometimes the symbol key doesn't change the keyboard, but the keys function as shifted.
3. Randomly changes from English to Spanish.

I love Swype, especially the latest version, but this has been unbearable. Had to switch to SwiftKey.

Yea, I switched back to the stock android keyboard which I like a lot. This version seems to be really responsive and accurate. Maybe its just because I couldn't see the keyboard on my old, retired Moment.

umm I cant even get swype keyboard on. Is there a trick? I used swype on my og evo but no go. Is it just me or are there some "should be intuitive" items that are not?

You do know you have to enable this feature right?

My trace will randomly disappear, I actually enjoy having the trace so it is very irritating. I hope they figure out why the trace doesn't work sometimes.

Swype works fine for me I just don't like it. Got a much better program that while it is older it works great for me. Called Shapewriter. They were actually bought up by Nuance a few years ago so they aren't available on the marked (Android or Amazon) but if you do a search for the shapewriter apk you can find it pretty easily and then install it from there. In my opinion it's hands down better than Swype.
