Swype... nothing beats it.

I'm using ShapeWriter and I love it. Since I can't get Swype until it becomes public, ShapeWriter is for now. Also it has support for Spanish, which I use quite often. It also has support for German, French, Italian and Swedish. If you don't get Swype, you should give ShapeWriter a try. For the people that are not sure about using this type of keyboard, all I'm going to say is give it a fair chance. Use it for about a week before deciding if this is for you or not. It definitely changed the way I type.

I didn't like Swype that much. Sorry. The stock keyboard was a lot easier to type with and I had much fewer errors.

Would love a link. Came from blackberry and need all the help I can get typing on this thing. Thanks

I think it's available in rom manager under forkup, but I think you might have to be rooted as it installs as a sys app... as far as functionality, swype is amazing for one handed typing in vertical mode, esp when you have larger fingers. The only thing is, you have to be a decent speller and I would switch to smart keyboard when horizontal, for a lil faster two handed typing. It's all personal pref, but after a week, I am way faster than on stock...

I'm going to echo everyone else. Could you please PM me the Swype Beta link and what is necessary to install it?

Swype wasn't very accurate... I think I had an old beta version, but it wasn't that great.

I've used a SWYPE-LIKE keyboard on my old Dell Xv51 (i'm not even sure if that's the name of the model anymore) and it was awesome.

Shapewriter has trumped it like 50x time over.

I'm only saying this so other readers of this thread know that it's more of a preference thing than an absolute decision.

I just got my EVO a few days ago. Came from a Pre. I'm loving it so far, even the keyboard is great...but I'm always looking for something better. Any chance I could get a link to Swype from someone?

I have to say that for me ShapeWriter works better. I like the look of Swype better but for some reason ShapeWriter is better at interpreting my input. This is just my experience.

Is there still access to a link? I can't find it anywhere...

Thanks

Did you Google it as has been suggested numerous times? That's how I found it. It is against the wishes of the administrators of this board and the developers of Swype for us to directly share the link.
