SWYPE Vs. SwiftKey Flow

Ok I don't post often so take it easy on me haha but I was curious as to which of these keyboards is better. I have used swype for 3 years and really like it. I decided to give Swiftkey flow a try the last 3 weeks. Here's what I discovered. Swiftkey has WAY too many words in the dictionary making flow very difficult to use. I LOVE the swipe to space bar so you never have to lift your finger. That is pretty much all I like about Swiftkey except the keyboard skins are cool. Swype is much more effective and accurate. I don't use swiftkey for typing, only flow so this is a bias opinion in that area. Swype is the clear winner for me. Thoughts?!

Swift key takes a learning period. For me swift key is the clear winner. When I used swipe beforehand you could ONLY swipe, which was annoying for me. I like SwiftKey because I can be typing normally and start flowing and go back to normal typing without missing a beat. I realize swipe is misspelled but the DNA autocorrected every one and I didn't feel like going back and changing them

yeah I understand that but I don't type at all... also I thought 3 weeks was plenty of time to learn and I still wasn't happy with it... thanks for the response!

That combination of swiping and traditional touch typing is what I like most about the newest versions of Swype, SwiftKey Flow, and the stock AOSP keyboard. I'm on the stock keyboard now, because I don't type enough on the devices to justify the improvements that Swype and SwiftKey have given me when I've tried them. It's not that I'm opposed to using them per se, but rather than I prefer as close to stock as possible.

I tried Swiftkey and could never get it working well for me. I've used Swype for years and love it, so I went back to it. It just seems to work better for me.

I like SwiftKey. I really enjoy SwiftKey flow. But when you add Google Voice on top of SwiftKey Flow you now have three options! Plus the ability to go back and forth between multiple languages while texting or flowing or speaking. Just great.

Swype. I spent a week with Swiftkey Flow and never liked it. I keep going back to Swype. Every little while I try Flow again, but I always come back to Swype. I don't know exactly why it's difficult for me, but I suspect it's because I've been using Swype that the differences between the two keep throwing me. It might be better if I were coming to it cold.

I was using Swype up until flow came out of beta. When I first switched, I didn't like it. However, after a week or so of using Swiftkey flow, I love it. Now that it has learned from me, the auto-corrects/suggestions are always right on. I often have entire sentences that don't require any actual typing since I can just choose the next selected word. When I am "flowing" though, the ability to swipe through the spacebar is awesome and seems to make me even faster. The theme's are awesome too. Point is I'm all for Swiftkey Flow. Just my 2 cents.

Swype all the way. Love the swype symbol to 5 to get numeric keyboard, easy to add to dictionary. Swiftkey Flow just wasn't recognizing my typing even after a few weeks. Swype just keeps making it better and better.

I used to fluctuate between the two but settled on SwiftKey. I do like that I can just get it from the Play Store instead of getting through the Swype installer.

I do think Swype is better at the swiping ability while SwiftKey is better at the touch typing. However, SwiftKey is better for me at swiping than Swype is at touch typing so I just stick to SwiftKey generally since I switch between swiping or touch typing depending on the situation.

I like Swype enough that I put up with the touch typing, and you're right. It's pretty bad compared to Swiftkey. But I'm just the opposite - Swype is what I mostly do, so I deal with Swypes not too good touch typing when I have to.

Had swiftkey for a while. Then tried Swype and never looked back. Swype is my preference

Nothing wins swype when it comes to swiping

The main thing that bothers me about Swype is the spacebar seems to be a little small and when tapping in landscape I accidentally hit the period. Other than that I like Swype best but I think swiftkey flow is also a good choice

I use Swype because it's much easier, I find. When trialling SwiftKey, it seemed a bit irritating at times.

SWYPE ALL THE WAY!

Sent from my HTC Desire C using Android Central Forums using Swype of course.
