What is the best way to sync files from pc to phone? I have an Excel file I would like to be able to update from pc or phone.

I use Document to Go full version which will sync any (doc, ppt, xls) with your computer. I have been using for a few weeks and haven't have any problems with the program. It will sync al my Doc's in matter of a few seconds to a minute depending on the amount of files that changed. They are many more options beside just the syncing files like Google Docs you can check it out in the market.

I didn't know docs to go did that. I have it just never used it thanks for the FYI

I agree with mclarryjr. You might also want to consider using Dropbox, Box.net or something similar to wirelessly sync your documents between your phone and your computer. I do exactly what you're doing with Dropbox and Documents to Go and it works perfectly.

You could also try the Missing Sync. The file sync module will keep a document synced between the phone and a PC based on which has the most recent changes. And it syncs over wifi. But it's buggy and expensive ($30). There is a 14 day trial, but its not easy to find on their site. Google "missing sync android free trial".

Or, alternatively, upload the spreadsheet to Google Docs. That would keep one file in the cloud, accessible from either the handset or a PC. ;)

I don't know much about Google docs, but I was thinking about that route. Nothing sensitive in the file that I'm worried about. I am not a fan of storing data with someone else maybe I'm just paranoid.

Google Docs is not any less secure than your Gmail (or Yahoo mail, or Hotmail). ;) I use it for all sorts of non-sensitive things, although that usually is because I want access either at home or at work, not necessarily on my phone. But it's reliable and if you have a browser with a working connection to the internet, you have your data.
