Sync Issues

My daughter has an HTC One. She wanted to see if her contacts were sync'ing properly. So I had her log into the Google Account and go to contacts. Nothing there. So we looked in the HTC One at Settings-Accounts and Snyc, and it's showing autosync is on. So I looked at the list of what's syncing. Lots of stuff, including Contacts! They're on the phone but nothing is on the Google cloud. Any ideas?
