Sync Problem with Calendar Apps

This is really weird. I would really love to replace the Google Calendar app. Don't get me wrong, it's a very functional app, just not nice to look at. All the other calendars out there such as SolCalendar, Digical, Sunrise etc. are all good looking and functional too. The only problem is (so far) they don't sync well with Google Calendar or probably with the Google Account in general. Example: I add an event in the Google Calendar in desktop and sync my device yet when I check in the calendar app, it's not there. However, if I install the Google Calendar app, then it gets posted in the other app as well. Am I the only one experiencing this? Because it seems that a lot of people claim that the other apps sync well with their Google Calendar, or any other calendar for that matter. Hopefully someone could share their thoughts on this one.
