There are some Sync updates that are dealer updates only. For the most part, the customer does the update with a thumb drive. "MY" dealer will do it under warranty if you're having a problem. I was. Every now and then the (usb) part of the system would restart. Service manager said "that's a problem" and warranty took care of the update
