I've had my galaxy S3 for over a year now. A friend downloaded Chive on my phone several months ago when i told him i had never been on it. I barely used the app. I synced my phone to my laptop for the first time the other day. The main reason was to save the pictures i had taken. There were over 600 pictures and videos found... i found this odd because i knew there weren't any more than 100 photos on there. I decided to few the picture it found before uploading all of them. There were pictures from Chive on there, mainly half naked girls and all black photos (possible corrupt?). I could tell they were from Chive when i hovered the mouse over the picture and "http://www.chive.com/" was listed on all the photos i have never seen before nor taken. I was thinking this could be some kind of virus or something so i downloaded and activated LookOut. There were no threats found. Since then i have uninstalled Chive. These photos do not show up when i look in my gallery. So my question is, should i do anything else? How do i get these off my phone when i can't even see them? I think i could do a factory reset but i would like to avoid losing everything i currently have on there (apps, contacts, photos, ect.) Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Can you see the pictures when you look for them through your pc? If not, then they probably aren't there. Also, in settings - Storage, it discriminates among file types, and then you can see how much space the pictures in your phone are taking. 600 pics take a lot more space than 100...

BTW, apps downloaded from google play are generally safe
