system app downgrade

i wanted to install an older version than the initial version of a preinstalled app on my phone my simply installing the apk as a normal one, but after a restart, the app is back to the prebuilt version. how can i stop the app from reseting itself?

Welcome to Android Central! Can you Disable the preinstalled app in Settings>Apps, and then try to install the apk file?

hi and thanks for the fast reply! i tried disabling the app and installing the apk, but it installs it as an update to the app , enabling it automatically, and after i restart my phone, the app is back to the prebuilt version. also, one of the apps i wish to downgrade cannot be disabled. is there any solution to downgrade these apps without rooting my phone?

You might be stuck, then. I suppose you could try Greenify and hibernate the app, but installing the apk would still probably be treated as an update.
