System Changes after each Restart

I like to add my VM password to the dialing string so I don't have to fiddle with it whilst driving. Post GB update, I have noticed that after every Restart, the dialing string gets reset back to just *86 and doesn't include my password. Is this unique to my TBolt or have others seen this?

Thanks.

I've had a similar issue where my Google Voice setting goes back to "My Carrier" after every reboot. Really weird, hope someone knows a fix.

I experienced the same thing. But even before the GB update. I think my ThunderBolt did this from day one -- can't remember for sure.

However, I just programed my number with the password into another entry, assigned it to quick-dial #5 (middle of keyboard, easy to push-hold) and viola, it worked as advertised.

But, now that I'm on VZW VVM, all that is taken care of automatically.

Frank,
You did this by creating a new contact "person" then added that the the speed dial, correct?

For some reason, it is not accepting the pause in the dialing string once it it saved. Would having this contact on the SIM be any different than other contacts?

I dunno... mine works fine. Just re-tested making one. I'm entering under the Exchange category. I don't see why using the SIM category would matter. 110 percent factory stock here.

Why are you using the SIM category?

I re-created it as a phone contact and works fine. I did notice that when I selected the SIM contact type, it flagged some fields won't be available. Must be pauses in the dialing string is one of them.
I had tried to make it a SIM contact as it does contain the password and didn't want Google know about it (Oops, a security breach! Your data isn't as secure as we said it would be...)

Or, perhaps the SIM uses commas rather than Ps. Many dialers use commas for pauses. Sometimes even Ws.

The P was not an option from the keypad. Typing it in, the Pause key showed a comma but when saved, it deleted the comma and (I think) put a space.

I have my VM number set to [GoogleVoice]p[PIN], and it resets to *86 - every OTHER time I reboot. Strange stuff!
