Is there a way to change the system font on the nexus?Yes I'm rooted. I've tried jrummys root tools and it won't work.

not that i know of, just embrace Roboto in all its glory. Maybe by flashing a theme you could change it up.

Should work like other phones. Try and rename the font you want to the stock font used. In system/font you will find them all. We all know its roboto so I'd try that first. Just rename the new one to match the stock main font and copy past reboot. Just have a backup ready.

Tnt...I remember that trick when you taught me way back. I tried it but it didn't work. I'll try again in a while and report back.

Yea I didn't try it so not 100% sure. If replacing roboto don't work try the droidserif one. I believe that is used on other phones as the font. Bold is definitely used and I would guess also regular. If you download a flash able zip for fonts you will see the fonts used.

Ohhhhh... I see we have to overwrite a different system file. Hence roboto?

I tried to rename the roboto file. No go. Had to restore.

So you found a zip file with the new font you want. Most have two than I have seen. Rename the bold one DroidSans-Bold and the other just Droidsans then copy them over and overwrite them. Make sure properties are set to read and write. Might work.

I've read post that changing fonts on ics isn't possible yet. But I hope they do I like some bold roboto font. Thank this font is the best out there. I've tried font changer in market and it didn't work

Tried font installer and it only changes some of the fonts.

The guy in this thread has it down. He has a few flashable fonts that does it system wide. Has a few packs you can flash, and has a tut on how to make your own.

Thanks. I'll check that out right now. I didn't like how the app didn't change ALL system fonts. :banghead:

The simplest way to change system fonts. Use rom manager. There are flashable mods available that will change the ENTIRE system font. I was bored and was poking around last night and stumbled onto it :p:rolleyes:

Yeah that is the same guy from the post above that I did. He made em availabe to RM.

Download font changer from Play store and install it

Download fonts and store in your /sdcard folder

For Me its /sdcard/New Fonts

OPen Font changer

Go to advanced

Scroll down to DroidSans.ttf

Browse to your /sdcard/New Fonts and select DroidSans.ttf

Press apply ...

Repeat for Roboto-Regular.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf

Reboot ... Bingo

Use at you own risk

============================================================

Bottom Line in nexus DroidSans.ttf , Roboto-Regular.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf are the three fonts that are used to display major text..

My first attempt in tweaking the nexus .. A click on the thanks button would not cost you anything .. but would help me to understand how many users i helped
