Is there way to enable these features on the moto g5 plus Verizon variant? I'd like to enable the battery percentage on the notification bar but the only way to do this currently is to download a side app. thx!

Yeah I have it enabled on my G5 Plus. I used the same technique that has worked on everything else, long press on the little gear in the notification shade until it spins.

Do you have a Verizon branded G5 or an unlocked G5? Mine is unlocked but on Verizon.

I have the g5 plus amazon with ads on lock screen version (great deal for 240). I tried holding down the wheel for about 20 seconds but still no luck. : (

Do you have animations disabled in the developer options? If so, set the three values to 0.5x or 1x and try again.

I actually did disable them. One of the first things I do. I'll do as recommended and let you know if that worked. thx!

Yeah, if they are disabled the spinning cog animation doesn't work. Once you enable the System UI tuner you can disable animations again.
