System Updates on Sprint Unlocked Phones

Hi guys - quick question. I am using an unlocked Sprint Essential PH-1 on Verizon. How will I get system updates? Will they come in as if the phone was originally unlocked? Or am I still subject to Sprint's release of updates? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Either you'll get them from Essential or you'll have to find them (XDA Forums is a good source) and do them manually. (It depends on Essential's policies.)

I bought the Sprint version then unlocked it and as soon as I put my T-Mobile SIM in I got all the latest updates directly from essential.

I'm running the Oreo beta so I'm not sure. but as soon as you unlock it you'll get a couple of updates

I unlocked and got 3 updates out of the box. I'm on NMJ32F.
