I will unfortunately be getting rid of my Droid and Verizon and moving to Tmo and Vibrant. I want to know from the forums how Tmo's service REALLY is. I'm living in Los Angeles and Verizon NEVER let me down. Can I expect the same from Tmo? Or am I screwed.

Would like unbiased opinions. Thanks

Honestly I have no complaints regarding Tmobile's service in Los Angeles. However, compared to friends who are on Verizon there coverage is always stronger. You might want to wait for the G2 to release unless you are okay with the Vibrant needing a fix for the broken Gps. Tmobile customer service is excellent and their plan pricing is the best.

i live a couple miles inland from LA and i have no complaints about reception. 3G is a bit spotty, but thats all i can tell you. otherwise, my calls are pretty clear and i never really had any disconnects that i can remember.

I've been traveling a lot this summer and I'm done with t-mobile. 3g coverage is spotty once you leave cities. I did have good coverage in San Rafael and San Francisco but dropped to 2g in Oakland.

Midwest area. Very good 3G coverage. T-Mo's cust service and plan pricing are outstanding.

T-Mo is great if you don't spend too much time outside of cities and highways. In my experience, T-Mo is way faster than Verizon when you do have a signal. My wife has a Droid, and here in SF my d/l speed is at least twice hers. The tradeoff is that she can get 3G in Nowhereville.

If you're in LA, T-Mo has HSPA+ there, so you'll see some pretty insane speeds, on par or better than Sprint 4G.

BTW, if you wait a week or two, you can pick up a G2 which has full HSPA+ capability, which means theoretical 14.4mbps d/l. I love my Vibrant, but I'd be really tempted for a G2 if San Francisco had HSPA+.

The service is great except for the froyo update. I mean it they treat you with respect.

I switched to T-Mobile from Verizon in LA about 3 years ago and it wasn't a great change. I got better reception with Verizon. I was living in the Palms/Culver City area.

Overall T-Mobile service is good its just a matter of the delay in OTA updates, but other then that they are pretty good.
