T-Mobile $325 Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL deal

Re: T-Mobile $325 Pixel 2 "Amp" Pixel 2 XL deal

Glad to see you joining us in Pixel land :D. Which configuration did you chose?

I went with 2 XLs, 64 GB black versions.

I couldn't justify dropping $2,045 on two phones, though 128 would be ideal.

Luckily I'm trained to rely solely on 32GB and I stream 98% of my music so I'll be fine.

T-Mobile has great incentives for new users, i bolted from Verizon they paid my Pixel XL off $575...the MasterCard card was processed in two weeks, and I am in a better Unlimited Data deal, thinking about upgrading to a new Pixel XL.

Re: T-Mobile $325 Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL deal

I actually was thinking of switching too but as of right now my bill would go up. I plan on waiting until black Friday to see if they offer any good deals on plans.

What I have now: AT&T 2 lines (Nexus 6p for me and Galaxy s6 for my wife.)
15gb plan promotion where we get 30gb to share and rollover w/ unlimited talk and text bill was $158 a month but we finished paying for my wifes Gs6 so now its like $130 (this includes my 24% discount from my job)

What I will have at T-Mobile: 2 lines (Pixel 2XL and Gs8 for my wife)
Unlimited talk text and data plus nextflix is $120 plus $10 per line for HD video comes to $140 + $30 for her gs8 we would be paying $170 not including the cost of my Pixel 2.

Hopefully they bring back the 2 lines for $100 on black friday and still have the pixel mastercard deal.

Did they tell u how much more a month for the extra line

Re: T-Mobile $325 Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL deal

I called T-Mo to clarify. They don't have details because they said the deal is not 'active yet'. No start date, no end date yet. He can't confirm if you can cancel after getting the debit card. Don't forget:

- $25 activation fee
- $25 SIM card fee
- new users have to sign up with One, $70/month (probably minimum 2 months)

Net savings for new users - $135

Now, I'm going to put my Fi account on hold, which saves me $45/mo. Also, probably can get the activation fee waived. Rep says you have to buy a new SIM, no old Tmo SIMs allowed, which is bogus.

Re: T-Mobile $325 Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL deal

So if I understand this correctly, it would be $70 per month (1 line) if I switch from Fi to T-Mobile, and I could switch back to Fi after the gift card arrives in 2-3 months. Does this sound correct?

Re: T-Mobile $325 Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL deal

If you have the grandfathered plan, the line is only $10 a month.

Re: T-Mobile $325 Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL deal

i was good over the phone more then once you can cancel after you get the card of u want and one Peyton ok the store told me I had to keep the line open for 6 months which I caked customer service Back and she said she don't know what that person is yakking about once you get the card you can cancel if you want ... but I'm heading different numbers about per month first I heard only 20 next letting told me it's 40

Re: T-Mobile $325 Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL deal

im just trying to see is it really worth ot feom wjat i daw because what I was goijng to do is trade in a pixel to get the credit from Google then take it to t mobile to get there credit also but I'm already on jump on demand and have the note 8 and really thinking about the v30 because I'm really in to the wide angle camera and I also have a axon 7 I just don't want to get it and say this was a waste of money with what I already have

Re: T-Mobile $325 Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL deal

Remember, you can put Fi on 'hold'. Switch to T-mo, then cancel after 2 months, re-enable your Fi account. Port your number back and forth if you want.
Compare what you spend on Fi now. I use ~2gb/mo. ~$45/month. The more data you use on Fi now, the better the deal is. So, to me it looks like this:
$325 - $25 SIM card - $70x2 (T-mo) + $45x2 (Fi) + $25 (employee discount) = $275.
Still a good deal for me. If I can sell the 5x for ~$200, even better (trade-in would have $115). Or give 5x to Mom and switch her to Fi.

Re: T-Mobile $325 Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL deal

We've got four lines, each $40/month, plus free Netflix. I gonna try to convince someone to get a new phone number.

With how my wife and I use data, with Fi our bill would be a lot. At times we can consume 80-90gb each a month. Lol

Re: T-Mobile $325 Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL deal

Anybody know if T-Mobile supports e-SIM yet? If so, this could save the $25 fee for a new SIM if you switch to T-Mobile.

I think Project Fi is the only one that supports the eSIM at this time.

Nope. They want to charge you that activation.. err... "SIM" fee :P.

This is correct.

Yes, T-Mobile does support ESim. My Gear S3 on T-Mobile has an ESim and it has its own number. The question is will T-Mobile support the ESim in the Pixel 2.
